WE DID IT!!!!

On 10/24/2004 I did what I thought was impossible..... I successfully completed the Nike 26.2 mile Marathon!!! There were 9,000 participants in the event and together we raised a total of $10 MILLION dollars for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society! The run took us through some of the most scenic and hilly parts of San Francisco and everyone participating was excited about what we had accomplished together for such a worthy cause. In the picture above I am with my good friend, Carrie, on race day.

I want to thank all of you that contributed to, and supported me in this effort. I could not have finished those last 4 miles without you - I thought about all of you counting on me to finish and it really kept me going. And, YES, I can STILL walk!

I will try to get more pictures up on the website in the next few days so that you can see what a great time we had. Due to my fantastic experience with Team in Training, I have also decided to mentor a group of new trainees for the spring 2005 season. Their event will be in Oklahoma City, OK in late April.

Thanks again for supporting me and helping us make a difference to people with blood-related cancers!
